Emily O'Hara Ratajkowski (born June 7, 1991) is a British-born American model. She rose to prominence after her controversial performance in Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" music video in which she appears topless.
Emily Ratajkowski was born in Westminster, London, England to a Polish father and a British mother, who is an English professor and writer, whom Ratajkowski describes as a "feminist and intellectual". She was raised in Encinitas, California. She lived in and travelled to many parts of Europe at a young age and spent much of her childhood in Bantry, Ireland, and Majorca, Spain. Her parents are both artists.
Ratajkowski was signed by Ford Models at age 14, she continued to attend high school in San Diego, California at San Dieguito Academy, while she modeled and acted in Los Angeles. She attended UCLA for one year as a fine arts major, when she decided to pursue her career in modeling full-time.
